(VOVWORLD) -National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue called parliament of Vietnam and Australia an important bridge connecting the two countries' development goals and the aspiration to strengthen the friendship between the two peoples
On Friday in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, National Assembly Chairman Hue delivered a speech at the Australia-Vietnam Policy Institute, Australia's first research and policy recommendation agency specializing in bilateral relations founded by RMIT University.
Chairman Hue stressed three important issues: the global and regional situation, Vietnam's foreign policy, and prospects for Vietnam-Australia relations.
“Strong bilateral relations can only be built on the foundation of deep relationships between the two peoples. Therefore, as representatives of the people, the two parliaments are an important bridge connecting the two countries' development goals and the aspiration to strengthen the friendship between the two peoples. It can be said that the relationship between Vietnam and Australia is developing stronger than ever. Generations of leaders and people have come together a long way to bring our relationship to a level that no one, even the most optimistic person could imagine at the time when our diplomatic relations were established 50 years ago," he said.
