Bringing Medication into Viet Nam

Narcotic medication drugs must be declared to customs and must not exceed the quantity stated in the enclosed doctor's prescription, but not more than the quantity indicated for seven days.

Psychotropic medication drugs or medication containing precursors used as drugs must be declared to customs and must not exceed the quantity stated in the enclosed doctor's prescription, but not more than the quantity indicated for ten days.

13 countries that are unilaterally exempted from visas

Visa requirements are exempted for citizens of the following countries: Federal Republic of Germany, Republic of France, Republic of Italy, Kingdom of Spain, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Russian Federation, Japan, Republic of Korea, Kingdom of Denmark, Kingdom of Sweden, Kingdom of Norway, Republic of Finland and Republic of Belarus with a temporary residence duration of 45 days from the date of entry, regardless of passport type, purpose of entry, provided that all entry conditions according to Vietnamese law are met.

TOURIST VISA

For e-visa please go to the website of the Vietnamese Immigration Department https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn to apply. All enquiries will need to be made directly to this website (or https://xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/en/gioi-thieu/contact) as the Embassy is not related to the process.

For existing application to https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn, the Embassy can not answer any question regarding the progress.

WARNING:

There has been a cluster of complaints from both Australian and foreign visitors that the online visa applications via unauthorized and/or untrustworthy websites cause a lot of inconvenience. Sometimes they can not board on the plane or be denied entry and pay a fine because of fake visas.

For reasons as such, travelers and businesses to Viet Nam are strongly recommended to apply for the visas before departure.

SINH VIÊN VIỆT NAM CÓ THỂ SỚM HỌC TRỰC TIẾP TẠI BANG NEW SOUTH WALES

Tiếp theo thông tin về chương trình thí điểm sinh viên quốc tế quay lại Úc Đại sứ quán đăng ngày 30/9/2021:

Ngày 15/10/2021, Thủ tướng Úc Scott Morrison thông báo quyết định sẽ mở cửa đi lại quốc tế không hạn chế cho công dân và thường trú nhân Úc đã hoàn thành hai mũi tiêm chủng vắc-xin Covid-19 nhập cảnh bang New South Wales từ ngày 01/11/2021 mà không cần phải cách ly. Hành khách có thể sẽ được yêu cầu xét nghiệm Covid-19 trước khi lên máy bay và ngay khi nhập cảnh.

Theo thông báo của Bộ Ngoại giao Úc ngày 19/10/2021, các loại vắc-xin được công nhận cho đến nay gồm: AstraZeneca Vaxzevria, AstraZeneca COVIDSHIELD, Pfizer/Biontech Comirnaty, Moderna Spikevax, Sinovac Coronavac (đều yêu cầu 2 liều cách nhau ít nhất 14 ngày) và 1 liều Janssen-Cilag COVID Vaccine. Chứng chỉ vắc-xin phải do cơ quan có thẩm quyền cấp, bằng tiếng Anh hoặc kèm bản dịch có công chứng và gồm đầy đủ thông tin nhân thân của người được tiêm (họ tên, ngày sinh, số hộ chiếu, loại và ngày tiêm vắc-xin).

Trước thông tin Úc cũng có kế hoạch mở cửa biên giới cho người nước ngoài, trước mắt ưu tiên du học sinh, các Đại sứ ASEAN tại Canberra đã gửi thư tới Thủ hiến tất cả các bang và vùng lãnh thổ đề nghị quan tâm đón sinh viên Đông Nam Á quay trở lại học tập. Đến nay ngoài New South Wales, bang Victoria cũng đang khởi động chương trình đón sinh viên để trình Chính phủ Liên bang phê duyệt.

Về chương trình thí điểm đón 500 sinh viên quốc tế, trong đó có sinh viên Việt Nam, của bang NSW, Thủ hiến bang này khẳng định sẽ triển khai thực hiện từ ngày 01/12/2021, chi phí cách ly của sinh viên do các cơ sở giáo dục tài trợ. Đối tượng sinh viên được lựa chọn sẽ do từng cơ sở giáo dục quyết định trên cơ sở ưu tiên của trường (như ngành học và thời điểm bắt đầu hoặc kết thúc khóa học). Các sinh viên này sẽ được trường đại học liên hệ trực tiếp để hướng dẫn thủ tục nhập cảnh theo quy định của Bộ Nội vụ (https://covid19.homeaffairs.gov.au/). Trước mắt, chương trình thí điểm sẽ ưu tiên sinh viên muốn trở lại Úc, tạm thời chưa xem xét các trường hợp mới nhập học.

Mặc dù số lượng thí điểm còn ít ỏi so với con số hơn 15.000 sinh viên quốc tế mong muốn trở lại Úc để học tại NSW, nhưng cũng phần nào đáp ứng mong mỏi của du học sinh và là cơ sở để mở rộng trong thời gian tới cũng như sang các bang khác.
