Bringing Medication into Viet Nam

Narcotic medication drugs must be declared to customs and must not exceed the quantity stated in the enclosed doctor's prescription, but not more than the quantity indicated for seven days.

Psychotropic medication drugs or medication containing precursors used as drugs must be declared to customs and must not exceed the quantity stated in the enclosed doctor's prescription, but not more than the quantity indicated for ten days.

13 countries that are unilaterally exempted from visas

Visa requirements are exempted for citizens of the following countries: Federal Republic of Germany, Republic of France, Republic of Italy, Kingdom of Spain, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Russian Federation, Japan, Republic of Korea, Kingdom of Denmark, Kingdom of Sweden, Kingdom of Norway, Republic of Finland and Republic of Belarus with a temporary residence duration of 45 days from the date of entry, regardless of passport type, purpose of entry, provided that all entry conditions according to Vietnamese law are met.

TOURIST VISA

For e-visa please go to the website of the Vietnamese Immigration Department https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn to apply. All enquiries will need to be made directly to this website (or https://xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/en/gioi-thieu/contact) as the Embassy is not related to the process.

For existing application to https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn, the Embassy can not answer any question regarding the progress.

WARNING:

There has been a cluster of complaints from both Australian and foreign visitors that the online visa applications via unauthorized and/or untrustworthy websites cause a lot of inconvenience. Sometimes they can not board on the plane or be denied entry and pay a fine because of fake visas.

For reasons as such, travelers and businesses to Viet Nam are strongly recommended to apply for the visas before departure.

Đại sứ quán Việt Nam tại Úc, University of Canberra và nhiều doanh nghiệp Việt Nam tại thủ đô Canberra tài trợ và giúp đỡ tổ chức chương trình. Đại sứ Ngô Hướng Nam cùng phu nhân và tập thể lãnh đạo, cán bộ Đại sứ quán đã đến tham dự Phở Festival.
ACT-VYSA chọn Phở là chủ đề chính của lễ hội năm nay nhằm giới thiệu với bạn bè quốc tế về món ăn đã trở thành biểu tượng của ẩm thực Việt Nam trên khắp thế giới.
Phát biểu khai mạc, anh Hà Ngọc Minh Quân, Chủ tịch ACT-VYSA nhấn mạnh: “Phở không đơn thuần chỉ là một món ăn sáng phổ biến tại Việt Nam. Phở theo chân người Việt xuất ngoại du học và định cư khắp thế giới.
Hơn 500 người tham dự chương trình đã thực sự có được trải nghiệm phong phú và toàn diện nhất về văn hóa phở của Việt Nam.
Khách quốc tế và kiều bào tại Canberra xếp hàng dài “như thời Mậu Dịch” để thưởng thức các gian hàng phục vụ các món phở cuốn, phở gà, phở bò nạm bò viên, phở xào thập cẩm, và bún bò Huế. Đăc biệt tại Phở Festival 2019, thực khách được thưởng thức món phở gà chuẩn vị Hà Nội do đầu bếp của Đại sứ quán chuẩn bị và phục vụ. Ngoài ra còn có các gian hàng gỏi cuốn, chả giò, chè ba màu, chè thập cẩm…
Anthony Perrot, sinh viên trường Đại học Canberra chia sẻ “đây là lần đầu tiên tôi được thưởng thức món được quảng cáo là phở gà Hà Nội chuẩn. Nó rất khác với món phở gà mà tôi hay ăn ở các nhà hàng Việt Nam ở đây. Tôi rất thích vị nước dùng nhẹ nhàng và đặc biệt là có da gà rất giòn”.
Phở Festival 2019 còn có chương trình biểu diễn nghệ thuật đặc sắc của nhóm múa VietCharm (đến từ thành phố Melbourne), ban nhạc dân tộc VietBambooz (đến từ thành phố Sydney) và các nghệ sĩ tài năng của nhóm nhạc Soulmates tại thủ đô Canberra.
Phở Festival 2019 đã để lại nhiều ấn tượng tốt đẹp về đất nước, con người và văn hóa Việt Nam. Dù mất nhiều công sức chuẩn bị cho chương trình, ACT-VYSA tự hào đã đưa văn hóa Việt đến gần hơn với bạn bè quốc tế.
Với nhiều bạn thanh niên, sinh viên Việt Nam, đây là trải nghiệm đáng nhớ khi các bạn được tin tưởng giao phó và chung tay thử sức tổ chức một chương trình văn hóa quy mô lớn.
Lễ hội Phở khép lại nhưng mở ra nhiều mối quan hệ bạn bè mới và trang bị cho các bạn tân sinh viên thêm nhiều kỹ năng tổ chức và kỹ năng xã hội thiết yếu. Một khởi đầu ấn tượng cho một năm học mới ở một nơi cách gia đình gần 8.000 cây số.
