Bringing Medication into Viet Nam

Narcotic medication drugs must be declared to customs and must not exceed the quantity stated in the enclosed doctor's prescription, but not more than the quantity indicated for seven days.

Psychotropic medication drugs or medication containing precursors used as drugs must be declared to customs and must not exceed the quantity stated in the enclosed doctor's prescription, but not more than the quantity indicated for ten days.

13 countries that are unilaterally exempted from visas

Visa requirements are exempted for citizens of the following countries: Federal Republic of Germany, Republic of France, Republic of Italy, Kingdom of Spain, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Russian Federation, Japan, Republic of Korea, Kingdom of Denmark, Kingdom of Sweden, Kingdom of Norway, Republic of Finland and Republic of Belarus with a temporary residence duration of 45 days from the date of entry, regardless of passport type, purpose of entry, provided that all entry conditions according to Vietnamese law are met.

For e-visa please go to the website of the Vietnamese Immigration Department https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn to apply. All enquiries will need to be made directly to this website (or https://xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/en/gioi-thieu/contact) as the Embassy is not related to the process.

For existing application to https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn, the Embassy can not answer any question regarding the progress.

WARNING:

There has been a cluster of complaints from both Australian and foreign visitors that the online visa applications via unauthorized and/or untrustworthy websites cause a lot of inconvenience. Sometimes they can not board on the plane or be denied entry and pay a fine because of fake visas.

For reasons as such, travelers and businesses to Viet Nam are strongly recommended to apply for the visas before departure.

Mekong Delta

Công văn số 450/VPCP-QHQT ngày 18/01/2022

Đối với người nước ngoài, người Việt Nam định cư ở nước ngoài cùng thân nhân mang giấy tờ nhập cảnh hợp lệ (thẻ thường trú, thẻ tạm trú, thị thực, giấy miễn thị thực còn giá trị) được nhập cảnh Việt Nam theo quy định tại Luật Nhập cảnh, xuất cảnh, quá cảnh, cư trú của người nước ngoài lại Việt Nam và Nghị định của Chính phủ số 82/2015/NĐ-CP ngày 24 tháng 9 năm 2015, mà không phải làm lại thủ tục kiểm tra nhân sự, cấp thị thực/ giấy miễn thị thực, không cần xin phê duyệt chủ trương nhập cảnh của bộ, ngành, địa phương.

Australia công nhận vắc-xin Sputnik V của Nga

Ngày 17/01/2022, Cơ quan quản lý dược phẩm Australia đã ra thông báo về việc công nhận hiệu quả bảo vệ đối với vắc-xin Sputnik V do Nga sản xuất và cho phép những người tiêm loại vắc-xin này được nhập cảnh Australia. Điều này tạo điều kiện cho sinh viên quốc tế và lao động có tay nghề cao trở lại nước này.

Quy định cách ly đối với người nhập cảnh Việt Nam từ 01/01/2022

Chiều 16/12, Bộ Y tế đã ban hành văn bản số 10688/BYT-MT về việc phòng chống dịch COVID-19 đối với người nhập cảnh. Theo đó, kể từ 1/1/2022, người nhập cảnh đã tiêm đủ liều vaccine hoặc đã khỏi bệnh COVID-19, sẽ tự theo dõi sức khỏe ở nơi lưu trú 3 ngày, thực hiện xét nghiệm SARS-CoV-2 bằng phương pháp RT-PCR vào ngày thứ 3 kể từ ngày nhập cảnh. Nếu kết quả xét nghiệm âm tính với SARS-CoV-2 thì tiếp tục theo dõi sức khoẻ đến hết 14 ngày kể từ ngày nhập cảnh.
