Bringing Medication into Viet Nam

Narcotic medication drugs must be declared to customs and must not exceed the quantity stated in the enclosed doctor's prescription, but not more than the quantity indicated for seven days.

Psychotropic medication drugs or medication containing precursors used as drugs must be declared to customs and must not exceed the quantity stated in the enclosed doctor's prescription, but not more than the quantity indicated for ten days.

13 countries that are unilaterally exempted from visas

Visa requirements are exempted for citizens of the following countries: Federal Republic of Germany, Republic of France, Republic of Italy, Kingdom of Spain, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Russian Federation, Japan, Republic of Korea, Kingdom of Denmark, Kingdom of Sweden, Kingdom of Norway, Republic of Finland and Republic of Belarus with a temporary residence duration of 45 days from the date of entry, regardless of passport type, purpose of entry, provided that all entry conditions according to Vietnamese law are met.

TOURIST VISA

For e-visa please go to the website of the Vietnamese Immigration Department https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn to apply. All enquiries will need to be made directly to this website (or https://xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/en/gioi-thieu/contact) as the Embassy is not related to the process.

For existing application to https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn, the Embassy can not answer any question regarding the progress.

WARNING:

There has been a cluster of complaints from both Australian and foreign visitors that the online visa applications via unauthorized and/or untrustworthy websites cause a lot of inconvenience. Sometimes they can not board on the plane or be denied entry and pay a fine because of fake visas.

For reasons as such, travelers and businesses to Viet Nam are strongly recommended to apply for the visas before departure.

1. Ngày 30/6/2020, chính quyền Bang Victoria quyết định áp dụng lệnh hạn chế đi lại đối với người dân đang sinh sống ở mười khu vực thuộc lãnh thổ Bang (Postcodes: 3012, 3021, 3032, 3038, 3042, 3046, 3047, 3055, 3060 và 3064. Theo đó, người dân chỉ được vào và ra khỏi các khu vực này vì 04 lí do: mua đồ ăn và nhu yếu phẩm; chữa bệnh/chăm sóc người cao tuổi; tập thể dục; đi học/đi làm. Đồng thời, chính quyền Bang NSW cấm những người dân từ các khu vực nói trên của Victoria di chuyển vào NSW (Melburnians from hotspot suburbs have been banned from entering New South Wales. ).

2. Để tạo thuận lợi cho công dân di chuyển từ các bang khác tới sân bay Sydney, Đại sứ quán đã gửi công hàm tới Bộ Ngoại giao Úc đề nghị các cơ quan chức năng Úc tạo điều kiện cho công dân và thành viên gia đình (cần thiết phải đi hỗ trợ người thân); đặc biệt là những công dân đi từ các khu vực bị giới nghiêm nói trên được di chuyển thuận lợi tới sân bay Sydney để về Việt Nam trên chuyến bay ngày 3/7/2020.

3. ĐSQ và các TLSQ trân trọng đề nghị các công dân: (i) Khi di chuyển từ nơi ở tới sân bay Sydney chú ý mang theo vé máy bay, hộ chiếu và công hàm hỗ trợ của ĐSQ như hướng dẫn tại thông báo số 6 (công dân có thể tải công hàm tại đây); (ii) Thu xếp đến Sydney trong ngày hôm nay (Thứ Năm 2/7/2020) nếu có thể.
