More than 5 million foreign tourist arrivals visit Vietnam in 2010

This significant figure is believed to result from economic recovery and various promotion activities to attract foreign tourists.
More than 4 million arrivals travelled by air, 50,500 arrivals by sea and more than 937,000 by road.

Among 10 markets with the largest number of tourists to Vietnam in 2010, China still took the lead with 905,000 arrivals, up 74.5%. The following markets are the Republic of Korea (RoK) with nearly 496,000, up 37.7%, Japan with 442,000, up 24%, the US with 431,000, up 7%, and Taiwan (China) with 334,000, up 23.7%.

A recent survey released by the Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism showed that among 600 foreign tourists in a random interview, 23% said that they came back Khanh Hoa for the second time and 20% appeared for the third time.

The number of foreign tourists who came to Khanh Hoa for recreation and ecotourism made up 74% and almost all of them were from England, France, Russia, the US, Australia and New Zealand.
