Yes, you need a visa to enter Viet Nam.

A: Narcotic medication drugs must be declared to customs and must not exceed the quantity stated in the enclosed doctor's prescription, but not more than the quantity indicated for seven days.

Psychotropic medication drugs or medication containing precursors used as drugs must be declared to customs and must not exceed the quantity stated in the enclosed doctor's prescription, but not more than the quantity indicated for ten days.

A: To get a visa on arrival, an approval letter from the Vietnamese Immigration Department is required. Travelers will need to print all pages of the approval letter (when receiving via email), prepare two passport photos each (white background), and pay the visa stamp (at the landing visa counter at the airport): 25 USD in cash (30 days, single entry) or 50 USD in cash (30 days, multiple entry). A: Yes, as long as you have a temporary Vietnamese driver's licence.

An International Driving Permit obtained in Australia is not valid in Viet Nam because Australia has not ratified 1968 Vienna Convention on road traffic. 

To convert an Australian driving licence into a temporary Vietnamese driver's licence, the applicant must hold a valid Vietnamese residence permit of at least three month's validity. After getting this permit, travellers should contact the nearest Department of Transportation in Viet Nam for further information.

A: Following Vietnamese regulations, foreigners transiting by air are exempt from visas and must stay in the transit area at the international airport while waiting for their next flight. If you need to go through an Immigration clearance checkpoint to, for example, re-check your baggage or to take a domestic flight, you will need to get a visa before departure.

A: Following Vietnamese regulations, foreigners that transit by sea are not required to obtain a visa and must stay within the transit passenger area of the seaport while the ship is anchoring.

Travelers are exempt from visa for 30 days only when you enter Phu Quoc directly through an international airport outside Viet Nam or through a Viet Nam International Airport but only stay in the transit area and wait for the connecting flight to Phu Quoc.

You can renew your Vietnamese passport within 1 year before it expires.

A: Vietnamese passports issued abroad do not have electronic chips. Vietnamese passports only have chips when issued in Vietnam.

A: The Embassy does not issue ID cards. Vietnamese citizens must return to the locality of Viet Nam where they register their permanent residence to apply for their ID cards.

A: Vietnamese citizens must return to the locality of Vietnam where their birth was registered to apply for the reissuance of their birth certificates.
