Individuals entering Viet Nam are allowed to bring personal medicine for their own medical treatment without an import license, provided that the imported quantity does not exceed the maximum usage quantity of 07 days for Narcotic medication drugs or 10 days for Psychotropic medication drugs or medication containing precursors used as drugs according to the dosage stated in the accompanying prescription.
Narcotic medication drugs and Psychotropic medication drugs or medication containing precursors used as drugs must be declared to customs and must not exceed the quantity stated in the enclosed doctor's prescription, but not more than the quantity indicated for 07 days for Narcotic medication drugs or 10 days for Psychotropic medication drugs or medication containing precursors used as drugs.
In common understanding, addictive/narcotic medications are referred to opioid/cannabis and similar products. Psychotropic medication is any drug capable of affecting the mind, emotions and behaviors. In case personal medicine is not an addictive drug, psychotropic drug or precursor drug, the medicine can be received no more than 03 times/year/organization, individual with a total customs value of no more than 200 USD/time.
In case the medicine is used for people with diseases considered as Critical Illnesses, the total customs value of the medicine must not exceed VND 10,000,000/time (USD 400/time) and the maximum number of times to receive the medicine must not exceed 04 times/year/individual.
Medicines must have labels clearly stating the name of the drug, name of active ingredients, concentration, content, expiry date and must have a prescription from a physician. A prescription must contain at least the following information: patient's name and age; drug name, strength or concentration and volume; the amount of medicine (or the number of days of taking it); dosage; full name and signature of the physician; the physician's address (hospital, clinic, centre…).

You can make a declaration at the Viet Nam's customs of the port of entry where you will enter with your itinerary, proof of necessity (from doctors).
The customs will decide to let you bring in or not.
