Hanoi, February 7 (VNA) - On February 7, the Vietnamese Embassy in Australia held a New Year get-together for OVs in the country.

In response to reports on live cattle exported to Vietnam, the spokesman of Vietnam Embassy issued the following statement:

Australia has signed a new reciprocal work and holiday visa arrangement with Vietnam which will allow hundreds of young people to visit and work in the two countries.

Prime ministers of Vietnam and Australia on Wednesday held phone talks and discussed measures to realize the Declaration on Enhancing the Australia-Vietnam Comprehensive Partnership.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh has affirmed that peace and security are prerequisites for sustainable development, thus the construction of sustainable peace based on international law is in the common interest of all nations.

Deputy Minister of National Defence Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh (M) led a Vietnamese delegation to the first-ever United Nations Chiefs of Defence Conference held in the UN headquarters in New York City on March 27 and 28.

Delegates participate in the inaugural ceremony of the 132nd Inter-Paliamentary Union (IPU-132) in Ha Noi on Saturday. Viet Nam has called upon parliaments to implement sustainable development goals in the next 15 years. 

The two leaders hailed the development of the friendship and cooperation between the two countries across many fields, particularly since the establishment of a formal bilateral comprehensive partnership in 2009. 

Vietnam is a good friend to Australia and an important member of the regional and international community of nations.

This Declaration on Enhancing the Australia-Viet Nam Comprehensive Partnership expresses the wish of our countries to look for opportunities to expand relations further in a mutually beneficial way.
