Message by Ambassador

Welcome to the Website of the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam in the Commonwealth of Australia! 

It gives me great pleasure to officially become the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Viet Nam to Australia on February 28, 2024. 

Since the two countries established diplomatic relations in February 1973, over the past 50 years, the relationship between Viet Nam and Australia has gone from strength to strength. The two countries established the Comprehensive Partnership in 2009 and upgraded it to Strategic Partnership in 2018. Recently, during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to Australia in March 2024, the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership was inked, marking a new milestone in the history of friendship and cooperation between the two countries. This is also an important premise for the two sides to continue enhancing cooperation in traditional fields such as politics, economics, trade, investment, education and training, science and technology, security and defense,  people-to-people exchanges...;  as well as  open up new opportunities for cooperation in the fields of digital transformation, clean energy transition, sustainable development, resilient supply chains and climate change response.

The above-mentioned achievements would have been impossible without the active contributions of the Vietnamese community in Australia.  Throughout the long history of development, the Vietnamese community in Australia has grown stronger and integrated well into the ​Australian society with prominent members in many fields; many of them ​have always dedicated to the homeland and contributed to the Viet Nam-Australia friendship.  The Vietnamese Embassy in Australia will continue to accompany and support these extremely valuable efforts of the Vietnamese community in Australia.
