Verification of Vietnamese origin applies only to individuals of Vietnamese nationality residing overseas and persons of Vietnamese origin who hold a foreign nationality. Those who still possess a valid Vietnamese passport do not need to obtain confirmation of Vietnamese origin. You may submit your application directly at the Embassy or send it by postal mail.

Required documents:

- Application form 10.Mẫu Tờ khai cấp GXNGVN 1_0.docx hoặc 11.Mẫu Tờ khai cấp GXNGVN 2_0.docx

- A certified copy of your valid Australian passport

- A certified copy of your Vietnamese birth certificate (issued by a Vietnamese authority), or your Vietnamese ID card, or your previous Vietnamese passport

- If the name on your Vietnamese birth certificate differs from your current legal name, you must provide an official name change certificate

- Fee: Payable by Money Order or Check made out to EMBASSY OF VIETNAM

- Self-addressed return envelope.
