On 10 July 2026, Ambassador Pham Hung Tam received Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Australia, H.E. Mr. Malek Alwazzan, at the Embassy of Viet Nam in Canberra.
During the meeting, Ambassador Alwazzan shared his warm sentiments and fond memories of East Asia and Southeast Asia, including Viet Nam, accumulated throughout his diplomatic career. He highly valued the friendship and cooperation between the State of Kuwait and Viet Nam, and briefed Ambassador Pham Hung Tam on the positive developments in Kuwait–Australia relations.
Ambassador Pham Hung Tam congratulated Ambassador Alwazzan on the presentation of his credentials to the Governor-General of Australia. He reaffirmed the importance of the Viet Nam–Kuwait Strategic Partnership and expressed his appreciation for the growing bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of energy and oil and gas. Ambassador Pham Hung Tam also highlighted the substantive progress achieved under the Viet Nam–Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in recent years, as well as the active role and positive contributions of the Vietnamese community in Australia.
The two Ambassadors exchanged views on the host country's current situation, recent developments in the Middle East, and their implications for global peace, energy security, and food security.
